Naturally Dyed Potato Printed Tea Towels Class Date: Saturday Jan 16, 1pm-4pm Location: 2313 Beatrice Street #100 Instructor: Dallas Weaving Co. (Emily Robinson-Sogan and Emily Schmidt)
In this workshop we will use thickened mordants and carved potatoes to print designs on tea towels. Once immersed in a natural dye bath the dye affixes to the mordants and creates a range of hues that stand out against the background. No dye experience needed, we will start this workshop by planning out our design and translating it to the cloth by printing or painting! You will have time to design 1-2 towels each, they must simmer in the dye bath for about 30 minutes.
